NAME: Bo-Katan Kryze POKEMON TEAM: Ori Bo-Katan’s strongest Pokemon, Ori is not a cuddly Dragonite but is rather fierce and intimidating looking due to his massive size. Standing at 11 ft tall he’s a determined dragon who is proud of his power and will not back down from a fight. He’s also very loyal to his trainer.
Laraan While a typical looking Lapras, Laaran is a well bred specimen that has wide variety of moves that Bo puts to good use. A very reliable, versatile and sturdy Pokemon. Easily one of Bo-Katan’s go to Pokemon as she’s good in many situations. Being the bold creature she is, Laaran also never backs down from a fight.
Paz Much like Ori, Paz is a brute and is one of Bo-Katan’s most loyal and hard hitting Pokemon. Being a former Rocket Pokemon, though Bo doesn’t know it as she thought he was just a Vermillion gang Squirtle, he’s not afraid to do what it takes to win. Even if it means using some dirty tactics. Though Bo has raised him to be better than that and listens to her instead.
Bes’uliik Calm and collected, this Metagross is one of Bo’s most reliable battlers. Sturdy and powerful, it is one of her favorite steel types. And she has a lot of them. It is very calculating and shares his trainer’s affinity for strategy, making them quite formidable together in battle as they’re very like minded.
Eparavur A very typical Snorlax. She’s slow, lazy, and likes to eat. A lot. But with Bo-Katan’s training she has managed to become more disciplined and a formidable battler. With Bo using her traits to her advantage. She’s just as powerful as she is sturdy, making her a well rounded warrior.
Kal An armored warrior just like his “mom”, Kal the Bisharp is the other favored steel type. Having been bullied by fighting types as a Pawniard in Saffron, Bo rescued the little guy who was proven to be very sturdy. As he grew though he’s proven to be quite the fighter as well and also one of Bo-Katan’s most loyal Pokemon.
BADGE: War Badge/Monday CHALLENGE: Like with the Love Badge, Bo-Katan has no idea what she’s in for. Only that it has to do with war, and so she chooses some of her best and most reliable Pokemon for this. Considering she’s the leader of a culture deeply steeped in war, she’s very much war-minded and goes into this as such. Confident that the Pokemon she chose would be ones she would want with her in battle.
Ori the Dragonite follows her in. The imposing Pokemon that’s twice her height looking ready for a challenge. Letting Jolyne know that her Pokemon are between levels 80 and 100, Bo-Katan prepares herself for the fight. It quickly becomes evident to Bo that this is a test of endurance and she adjusts her strategy to fit that.
Ori is the first to go. Having his use safeguard to protect him from status altering moves while also throwing a thunder wave at his opponent. Then dragon dance to increase his attack and speed. She avoids any attacks that, while powerful, would work against him. Favoring moves like Hurricane, Surf, Fly, and Extremespeed to pack a punch but also keep him lasting longer. Once his strength starts dwindling though she will have him use Roost to replenish some of it.
Once Ori can’t go on any longer he’s replaced with Paz the Blastoise. The burly turtle eager to fight. Bo-Katan starts off with having him use Iron Defense followed by Rain Dance to give him an edge. He’s also holding a mystic water to further boost his was attacks. Once that’s done there’s an onslaught of water moves such as Surf and Hydro Pump. Though again she avoids any of his moves that would damage the Pokemon itself despite being powerful. Though if it’s evident that one of Jolyne’s Pokemon is about to use a very strong attack she will have Paz use Protect to guard against it.
When Paz is finished he’s replaced by Bo-Katan’s Lapras, Laraan. Once Paz’s Rain Dance expires she will renew it again but also use Confuse Ray on her opponent. Much like with the Blastoise Bo will have her use Surf and Hydro Pump, but also Thunder unless up against a ground type of course. The types of attacks will depend on what she’s up against but could include Psychic, Bulldoze, Freeze-Dry or Ice Beam. When Laraan’s HP starts to dwindle though Bo will have her use Sing to try to put the opponent to sleep then Life Dew to replenish her strength.
Next up after Laraan comes Bo-Katan’s Metagross, Bes’uliik. She starts off with having it use Magnet Rise, followed by Iron Defense and Scary Face. Like with her other Pokemon too she forgoes the powerful attacks that have downsides to give it the best chance at lasting longer. Favoring attacks such as Earthquake, Psychic, Meteor Mash, and Hammer Arm depending on the opponent.
When the Metagross is done, the next one up is Eparavur the Snorlax. She largely stays in place and is very heavy and moves slowly. Bo-Katan starts by having her use Yawn to make her opponent drowsy and eventually fall asleep. Thats then followed by Belly Drum to sharply raise her attack. What follows is admittedly one of Bo’s favorite strategies. Commanding her to use Fling, it’s revealed that the Snorlax was holding an Iron Ball, which she then chucks at Jolyne’s pokemon for high damage. After that, depending on the opponent, Bo will favor moves like Crunch, High Horsepower, Body Slam, Heavy Slam, Hammer Arm, and Surf. However, once her strength starts getting low Bo will have her use Rest to restore her it. This will cause the Snorlax to then use moves like Snore and Sleep Talk while snoozing.
Last but not least, Bo-Katan’s final Pokemon will be Kal the Bisharp. Fast and furious, he will be going in with Retaliate first to avenge his teammate’s defeat! This is followed by Iron Defense and Swords Dance to increase his stats. Depending on the opponent Bo will use an arsenal of attacks ranging from Night Slash, to Iron Head, to Slash. She will have him use Torment if his opponent is proven to have a highly effective attack against him too. Though Bo-Katan might also have him use Fury Cutter repeatedly for increasing strength each turn depending on the circumstances.
